Mason Jar Soap Dispenser

I loved this idea when I pinned it and I made one of these about a month ago right away and I love my soap dispenser!

So I made as part of a Wedding gift for a friend. I just love these! :)

The hardest part is drilling the hole in the lid but it works out.

Also I etched her new last name in the glass with an etching tool- so fun! :)

Did I mention how much I love these anywhere...? ;)

Broiled Parmesan Tilapia

Pinned this today:

http://pinterest.com/pin/217215196/

Made it tonight!  I actually ate some of this, I hate fish, but the topping was so good.  Pyper ate it!  Since she's one, I think that's a big deal.  Make it, you'll like it!

Creamy Pesto Sauce

I pinned this recipe from All Recipes one of my favorite sites to get recipes from.  The recipe turned out fantastic and I didn't even follow the instructions to the "T".  Which if you know me at all you know that I don't read directions well.

I have made this 2 times since posting it 4 weeks ago, if that tells you how good it is.  The second time I made it I used sun dried tomato pesto, which I prefer.

Here was what I did differently, in case you want to try it:
My first comments from Pinterest:
I used 3/4 cup heavy cream and 1 and 1/4 cup 1%milk. Used thin spaghetti noodles. Grated fresh asagio cheese. And didn't use mushrooms, shrimp or fresh tomatoes. I did however put in a can of Ro-Tel which made it PERFECT! Just enough kick to be noticeable but not overpowering.  My picky eaters LOVED this, which is a relief!

The second time I made it:
this time left out the onions, used pene rigate noodles and used sun dried tomato pesto. WHOA.SO.GOOD.

Simple Crock Pot Chicken & Rice

Here is another idea I pinned :

We tried it and it was pretty good! Super Easy too : )

A new recipe

I pinned this and made it. It tasted just like a regular baked potato, but more work lol

A Little Humor for a Monday

Okay this is super childish, but I though it was super funny.... I pinned this-

and then.... I did these (not perfect, but I you get it) ... in all of the stalls in my work bathroom! It was SO funny to hear the buzz around the office. PLUS someone actually took a picture of it of one of them and posted it on FB. So much for a boring Monday huh!?

The Sock Bun

Seriously one of my favorite finds so far- I have used it both to curl hair and as a hairstyle- and both! :)

Here is my original pin, the page includes a link to the video, I highly suggest watching the video linked to that video too. :)

This is a picture of one of my daughters wearing it as a hairstyle and me with the awesome curls!

Inspired by...

This is not exactly a replica of a pinned item, but I pinned this

and it inspired me to take this picture-

I think you could do a lot of fun pictures with Shadows!

Crayon Art

I guess I am on a crayon kick right now, but with the back to school sales Wal-mart has the 24 packs for only 40 cents!! So tonight I tackled this craft  with my nephews.
It was super hot out to do a project involving a hot glue gun and a hair dryer, but we toughed it out. The boys didn't enjoy the prep work of unwrapping all those crayons, but they loved melting them! Now that I look at the picture I pinned I noticed they left the wrappers ON! That would have helped with the gluing.

At any rate it was a fun project and kept the boys busy for a couple hours.

Total cost was about $13 because the canvas are on sale 50% off this week at Micheal's.

Crayon Wreath

When I saw This idea  I actually thought it was a little comical, because if you hung that on a door this August here in AZ I think you would be cleaning up melted wax off your porch. I did, however, end up making it for my nephew's teacher.

I went the cheap route and used a wicker wreath because that is all the dollar store had... I wouldn't recommend it because it was really hard to hot glue the crayons to it since it wasn't flat.

For the center of the flower I used tips of 3 crayons.

Birthday Balloons!

Here is a  fun idea I pinned the other day! I like to acknowledge birthdays (when I can) either on FB, a card in the mail or a card with a few scratcher tickets of a candy bar on a person's desk.
When I saw this idea I knew I had to do it.

I made my balloons with my cricket cutter and the entire project only took about 20 minutes!

When I make this again I will make larger balloons (I had it set on 2 1/2 inches) and I will stagger where I glue each one to the pixy stix so the bunch is more full.

The project only cost a whopping 50 cents, because I only used 1/2 the bag of pixy stix, strap paper and of course the can was free.

Bird Feeder

This is my first pinterest I made real! I pinned this idea!

I am always looking for crafty type ideas I can do with my nephews and after recently painting birdhouses I just new they would love these!

The project only cost about $2.50 and I have enough supplies to make at least 3 more batches.

The entire project only took 15 mins (plus drying time)

The project didn't hold my 6 year old nephew's interest (not much does), but the 4 year old loved it!

Ribbon Necklace Extender

Do you have a necklace that's too short for an outfit but you want to wear it anyhow? If you add a ribbon to it you can :) Unfortunately I couldn't find the original source- but here's my pin http://pinterest.com/pin/85449516/

Here's my version, I added a ribbon but the clasp on mine was large and awkward so I clipped a flower on it. Voila! Love it! I might make it even longer next time!

The Twist and Pin

This elegant hair style is pretty awesome! This is from Christina from Hair Romance which she posted on "I am Momma hear me roar" here http://iammommahearmeroar.blogspot.com/2011/06/twist-and-pin-with-christina-of-hair.html I have to say that it was not extremely easy to do but I felt like it was worth it. :) And with more practice mine would turn out even better lol
Here's the pin :) http://pinterest.com/pin/94561620/  I totally thought it looked just like hers till I saw the pics- oh well. I did too small of sections- I'll try it again soon and see if turns out even better. Also I forgot to take a picture from the side- it looks really neat. :) In her video tutorial she mentions doing it in 3 minutes. It took more like 10-12 minutes for me- but not bad :)
I totally did not see that bobby pin in the mirror lol She says the key is to use good, strong bobby pins for this style- so true! I ran out of my good ones. :P When we went out to dinner I caught a few admiring (it looked like) glances. Lots of fun! I did it in clean hair and then slept with a scarf over it.
It actually was fine the next day but I wanted to see what I could do with it so I unpinned and unwound them and made it into an awesome bun. (My hair is so fine- the fact that it looks so big is seriously amazing!) ;)

The Side Chignon

This is my first post here and the first Pinterest idea I made real! I have a thing for vintage hair and I love this look! Here's the Picture from http://citified.blogspot.com and my pin http://pinterest.com/pin/87203490/

And here is my result following the directions on the blog except that I didn't twist all my hair into the ponytail how the text describes but did it more like the photo shows to get the right look.

It was perfect for church last Sunday and the performance I was in that night and I got several compliments! Who could ask for more?
